"Welcome back to Equanimity: Letting Go of Attachments. I'm your host, Master Rinda."
Through many seasons of my life—raising a family, recovering from illness, and learning the limits of my own energy—I've learned something important: not everything deserves your yes.
Today, we're going to explore what it means to say no and honor your energy with compassion and clarity.
I'm so glad you're here. This is a gentle space where you can breathe, release pressure, and reconnect with what feels sustainable for you.
Many people say yes out of habit. Out of fear. Out of politeness. Out of worry that someone will be disappointed. Teens feel this at school and with friendships. Adults feel it at work, in family life, and in relationships.
But equanimity teaches us that honoring your energy is an act of wisdom, not selfishness.
Your energy is not unlimited. Your capacity changes day to day. You are allowed to acknowledge that.
Recognizing your limits doesn't make you weak. It makes you aware.
When you say no without apology, you create space for what truly matters. You create space for presence, clarity, and emotional balance.
Every yes has a cost. When you say yes to everything, you say no to yourself.
Equanimity invites you to choose alignment over obligation. To listen to your body. To honor your time. To trust that healthy relationships can handle a gentle no.
Preserving your energy is not avoidance. It is choosing sustainability over burnout.
Your capacity is yours to protect. You do not need to justify it.
If you've been feeling overwhelmed or stretched thin, take a soft breath. You can begin honoring your energy one small choice at a time.
Thank you for spending this moment with me.
